Welcome to Gorseybrigg Primary School and Nursery.
We hope that you find our website interesting, informative and easy to navigate.
Our team works hard to make sure that our children enjoy a vibrant and challenging curriculum which enables them all to make progress. We do this through a thematic approach to learning and a desire to give every pupil a range of exciting experiences, both in and out of the classroom, including an offer of residentials from Y2 upwards. We value talent at all levels and in all subjects to make every child feel special. Our strong and experienced staff team work collaboratively to share ideas and skills and we have an ethos that recognises that we all have a collective responsibility to make every child's time at Gorseybrigg a positive and successful one.
We continue to look to improve our school further so that every child can have the best experience possible. In the last two years we have improved and updated our indoor spaces and have installed Phase 1 of a new playground area/trim trail (thanks to our fantastic PTFA). In December 2019 we opened our new Library, which has proved really popular and has got most of our children even more engaged with reading! We are open before and after school twice a week for families to come in with their children and we have a "grown up" section for you to borrow from too! We continue to work on developing our curriculum to make it as engaging as possible, and include Forest Schools, a wide range of sports and yoga as part of our offer. Whilst high academic standards are of course important, they are only a part of the all-round education we wish to offer.
Please contact us if you would like any further details, or are interested in your child coming to our school or nursery. We look forward to meeting you.
