This week in school has seen the whole school being very active during our annual Sports Week. It started off with an opening ceremony where Y1 performed their Dinosaur dance and Y5 led a song ‘Going for Gold’. During the week all children from Nursery to Y6 have participated in a wide range of activities including cricket, tennis, orienteering, rugby, netball, dance, gymnastics, boccia and tri-golf. Years 1-6 also took part in an intra-competition which was a culmination of the sport they have been learning in PE lessons this half term. Years 3 and 4 made a visit to Dronfield Sports centre to make use of their climbing wall, short mat bowls and badminton courts. Years 5 and 6 became young leaders, planning and delivering exciting activities for Nursery, Reception and Year 1 children.

On Tuesday the whole school walked to Barlow and back again- another fantastic walk in our local countryside.

On Wednesday, the whole school took part in a sponsored fun run around the school field, cheered on by parents. There were some amazing runners and lots of money has been raised for the PTFA funds.

6 boys and 6 girls participated in the Quad Kids event at Henry Fanshaw on Monday 22nd May. They performed really well and came an overall 3rd place. Well done!

On Thursday, 24 children from Years 5 and 6 attended the Kwik- Cricket tournament at Coal Aston Cricket ground. A long, hot and enjoyable day! Well done!

A closing ceremony on Friday will bring everyone back together and share celebrations.  A very busy week!!

Well done to the four children in year 4 who came 2nd in the District final for Mini- Tennis at Eckington!!
